Hello, my name is Naya, and I am an educator and writer with a deep passion for the fields of education, child development, and neuroscience.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Education from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and have specialized in Neuroscience Applied to Learning Development (Education) at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Additionally, I have a specialization in Learning Disabilities (Psychopedagogy) from Universidade Estácio de Sá.
With more than a decade of experience in the educational sector, I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups of learners, educators, and families. I am currently residing in Vancouver, Canada, where I am ECE (Early Childhood Education) certified. My professional journey has been shaped by a commitment to continual learning—whether from children’s perspectives, insights shared by fellow educators and parents, or the latest research in the field.
I’m so glad to connect with you and appreciate your kind words. It’s been quite a journey, and moving to Vancouver definitely brought a fresh perspective on how education is approached in different cultural contexts. That’s one of the things I’ve been reflecting on a lot lately—the role of culture in learning, and how diverse environments shape both teaching and learning experiences.
Right now, I’m especially passionate about exploring how neuroscience can be applied more practically in the classroom, especially in terms of how children’s brains process information at different stages of development.
I’m also diving deeper into the relationship between emotional well-being and cognitive development—how emotional regulation can actually enhance learning, and how educators can better support that.
Another area I’ve been researching is the intersection of learning disabilities and inclusive education. There’s so much to explore about how we can create truly inclusive environments that support all learners, particularly those with learning challenges. There’s a lot of potential in adapting teaching strategies and using neurodiversity as a strength rather than seeing it as something to be “fixed.”
Do any of these topics resonate with you, or are there any areas you’re currently diving into in education or child development? I’d love to hear what’s on your mind too!
This platform serves as a space to engage in thoughtful discussions about education, child development, neuroscience, and innovative learning activities. I invite you to explore my work, including my books and workshops, and encourage you to share your experiences and reflections on these topics.
I am always open to connecting and exchanging ideas, and I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to reach out via the contact form at the end of the page.
